Chiropractic Education & Training

Chiropractic training is extensive and requires a special emphasis on anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, biomechanics, X-Ray, and spinal adjusting techniques.

Each student needs to complete at least two years of undergraduate college, followed by four to five years of specialized Chiropractic training.

To graduate with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, each student needs to pass the State Board Examination for the state which they wish to practice in.

Doctors of Chiropractic must meet stringent educational requirements, including approximately 600 hours of externship, which qualifies them them for licensure in all states.

Licensed Chiropractors are also required to attend annual re-licensing seminars. If a chiropractor fails to attend these seminars it could result in the revocation of the doctor's license.

On the right is a comparison between hours of study between Medical Doctors and Doctors of Chiropractic. It's an interesting fact that Chiropractors actually do more class hours than MD's.
